Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to become a patient at Longév?

No referral is needed. Simply call us or book a free 15-minute discovery call and we’ll walk you through how to get started.

Traditional medicine is designed to diagnose and treat disease after it occurs. Longevity medicine is proactive — we use advanced testing and personalized protocols to identify and address risk before disease develops. The goal isn’t just a longer life, but a healthier, higher-functioning one at every age.

Longév is designed for motivated, health-invested adults who want more than just an annual physical — people who want to understand their biology, take proactive steps, and work with physicians who have the time and tools to actually optimize their health.

Longév is located in La Jolla, California. We offer certain services through telehealth, please call our clinic for more information.

The easiest way to get started is to book a free 15-minute discovery call — no commitment, no pressure. From there, if it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule your initial consultation.

Longév is a membership-based practice. Each tier includes a defined scope of physician visits, diagnostic services, and ongoing support. There’s no insurance billing — this model gives us the freedom to spend real time with you.

Yes. We offer six standalone packages — including the Longevity Reset, Hormone Reset, Metabolic Reset, Athletic Performance Longevity Program, and Executive Longevity Assessment. Each comes with a membership credit if you join within 30 days of completing the program.

Dr. Salem’s functional and longevity medicine services are cash-pay only — no insurance billing. Dr. Kalasho’s interventional spine services accept most insurances. All regenerative orthopedic, aesthetic, and IV therapy services are cash-based.

We go well beyond standard annual bloodwork. Depending on your goals, testing may include advanced cardiovascular and metabolic biomarker panels, hormonal profiles, inflammatory markers, micronutrient analysis, genetic testing, body composition scanning, VO2 Max testing, grip strength measurement, and more. Your physician will recommend the appropriate workup after your initial consultation.

VO2 Max measures your cardiorespiratory fitness — specifically, your body’s maximum capacity to use oxygen during exercise. It is one of the strongest predictors of longevity and all-cause mortality. We test it as part of our comprehensive longevity assessment and use it to guide your personalized exercise and metabolic protocols.

Regenerative medicine uses biologic therapies — derived from your own body — to promote tissue healing and structural recovery rather than masking symptoms. At Longév, Dr. Kalasho offers PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections, BMAC (bone marrow aspirate concentrate), and MFAT (micro-fragmented adipose tissue) therapy, applied to joints, tendons, and spinal structures.

Yes. Longév integrates wearable device data — such as data from Apple Watch, Oura Ring, and Whoop — into patient monitoring through our patient portal. Please ask our team for the most current information on supported devices and how to connect them.

It’s helpful to bring: a list of current medications and supplements (with dosages), any recent bloodwork or doctor’s notes from the past 1–2 years, records of relevant imaging if applicable, a brief health history, and — most importantly — a clear sense of your health goals. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything. We can work with whatever you bring.
